Dance Festival

Emma clapping to "Cotton Eye Joe"

Emma and her partner Brody

Good catch Brody!

Luke dancing a western dance

Most of the girls in Luke's class
are tall!

Malissa had fun dancing the Mexican Hat Dance!

This is by far my favorite event at the school!
Each grade performs a dance and its fun to see the
changes they make every year. Luke seemed
to be having fun as you can see in his expression.
Emma was relieved that the dance went well
and Malissa had a smile on her face the whole
time. It was a great dance festival!

Independent Claire

Claire loves to crawl under our
table. Sometimes she finds little
treasures under there.

Claire also loves to climb up our stairs
and make noises when she gets to the
top.

Emma and Malissa were at it again.
This time they put a bucket on Claire's head.
She didn't seem to mind the hat and kept it on
a long time.

Everytime Claire notices that we are doing the
dishes, she quickly crawls over to see what she
can take out of the silverware tray. This time
she discovered that she could actually climb up.

More Cheerios!

Tired Baby!

Class Devotional

Malissa dressed as a Pioneer

Malissa's classmates

Pioneer Decorations
Malissa's first grade class gave a Pioneer Devotional
at their school last week. As usual Malissa wasn't nervous
to give her part and did a great job! This is her part.
"The second year the pioneers were here, they needed
to plant extra crops to feed all the new members who
were coming to Utah. Before the crops were ready to
harvest, millions of crickets began eating the plants.
The Saints did everything they could to get rid of the
crickets. Nothing worked! They knelt down in the fields
and prayed for help. Thousands of seagulls came and
swallowed up the crickets. The Saints thanked Heavenly
Father for the miracle that had saved the crops."
All the children shared stories about the pioneers.
It was a wonderful devotional!

Ellie's Oven Fries-
(Food Network's Ellie Krieger)

1. Heat the oven to 450. Heat 1 Tablespoon minced garlic and 2 Tablespoons of canola oil together in a small saucepan over medium heat for 2 minutes. Remove the garlic from the oil with a small mesh strainer or slotted spoon. Set both the garlic and oil aside.

2. Cut 2 large baking potatoes into 1/4 thick matchsticks. In a large bowl. toss together the oil, the potatoes, and 1/2 teaspoon salt. Coat a baking sheet with cooking spray and spread the potatoes on it in a single layer. Bake them until they are golden and crisp, about 35 minutes, flipping them halfway through.

3. Transfer the potatoes to a serving bowl and toss them with 1 Tablesppon finely chopped, fresh parsley, the garlic, and salt to taste. Makes 4 servings.

4. Note- I wanted to share this receipe because its great for kids! My kids love this receipe. They would love it if I made it every night! P.S. If you don't have parsley or garlic it tastes just fine but the added ingredients make it taste even better.

Fancy Nancy

Yesterday Malissa and her cousin Becca
McDaniel went to a Fancy Nancy party at the
library. They got all dressed up and learned
fancy words in french, ate a cupcake on a fancy
plate, played a game and listened to a Fancy Nancy
book. The book is very cute and it reminds me
of Malissa and Becca because they both like to
dress up.

Sunday Fun

"Playing in the toybox is kind of fun!"

Should I be clapping?

I'm lucky I'm in here!

Emma's funny!

Ok who's going to let me out?

Emma & Malissa like to pretend that Claire is one of their dolls. They like to put her in their doll crib, or dress her up in one of their princess dresses. On Sunday Emma thought Claire would like the toy box. Claire didn't seem to mind the animals surrounding her and stayed in there for awhile. I love these moments when the kids play with each other and get along!

Spelling Bee Winners

Malissa got first place in her class spelling bee and
will be going to the Junior Spelling Bee next Thursday.
My friend called me from the school to tell me the good
news so I hurried and made cupcakes for her. Meanwhile after
school we found out that Luke got second place in his class
and will be going to the Senior Spelling Bee in February.
We are really excited for them!

"Can you give me the word in a sentence please?
