Disneyland Trip

This week Josh and I took our kids to Disneyland. We decided to take the kids out of school and go during the slow season. (This was their big Christmas present from us.) We had a great time enjoying the beautiful weather, rides, family and an afternoon at the beach.
On Saturday we went to Leo Carillo Beach. I couldn't believe we were wearing shorts in January! We had a great time looking for star fish, sea slugs and enjoyed seeing family.
On Monday we went to California Adventure Park. My parents also joined us. At first Claire was scared of the characters. Then she warmed up to them and was fine. Claire enjoyed going on the kiddie rides in Bugs Land, Monsters Inc, and Little Mermaid. Luke, Emma and Malissa enjoyed Tower of Terror, Screamin' and Soarin'.
We loved having my parents there. They were very helpful!
Claire always sticks her finger in her mouth when she's nervous. Mickey was her first character that she took a picture with so she was pretty nervous.
On Tuesday we surprised the kids and took them to a character breakfast. I had no idea how much fun it would be. We were the first ones to breakfast so our kids got a lot of attention from the characters. Claire was a little shy around the characters at first but then she warmed up to them. She did not like the princesses! She would not even look at them when they tried to talk to her. They also loved the food! The breakfast not only included Mickey Mouse pancakes but ice cream, jello, cupcakes and lots of other desserts.
On Tuesday we went to Disneyland. We went on almost all the rides. The day went by so fast and we were sad to leave. Claire loved the Buzz Light year ride a lot! She also loved going on all the kiddie rides including the roller coaster in Toon Town. Overall we had a great time and we can't wait to go again!
Luke really wanted to be in a picture with the Storm Troopers. I wish he had liked the characters when he was little.
Josh and I took our traditional picture standing at the wishing well where Josh proposed to me seventeen years ago.
