Last minute trip to California

Last Monday we decided to pack our bags again and head to California. Josh needed to be down there for work so we decided that we should all go. It was very crazy and last minute but we couldn't resist the idea of going to the beach again! It turned out to be a great trip!
On Friday we went to Zuma beach to watch the sunset. We had spent the day in Santa Monica with my parents so they were able to watch the sunset with us.

This is my favorite picture of the kids! They were having such a fun time watching the waves while trying not to get wet. I was surprised how warm the water was!
Claire was so afraid of the water at first. Finally by the second day she got used to the water and loved it! We had to watch her like a hawk because she loved running as fast as she could toward the water. She also liked chasing the seagulls!
It is a tradition to make pioneer wagons for Pioneer Day. They had a lot of fun making them with my mom and Kennedee!

We went to Santa Monica Pier. My parents wanted to take Claire on the Merry Go Round while we were there. She cried the whole time! She did not want to be on the ride.

Here are two yummy places that we went to while we were there.

Lavender Harvest

I took the girls to the Young Living Farm in Mona to see the Lavender Harvest. It was so beautiful! Emma and Malissa had fun picking the lavender to take home. It smells so good!

There was also a western town for kids. They could have played in the town the whole day! They especially liked the jail.
'
The girls had to try the Lavender icecream and they loved it! What a treat!
Meanwhile Luke is at scout camp. He left on Monday and will be back on Saturday. We miss him already. Josh went to help at the camp today and said Luke is having a great time.

We always have a great time with the Lytle cousins!

We spent 4th of July in Newport enjoying the fireworks from a roof top of a building. We had a lot of fun going to the beach with my brother and his family, my parents, and close friends of the family. My parents watching the fireworks with Malissa

My brother Jason and Josh had a great time in the freezing cold water!

Free shirts. Luke and his cousin Chris were excited!
Claire decided to stick a sand crab in her mouth after her sister let her hold one. Yuck!

Two babies over the weekend

Over the weekend we watched my sister's baby who is 6 weeks younger then Claire. I always thought it would be fun to have twins but I was exhausted by Saturday night! It was cute to see the two interact with one another and Catelyn is a very easy going baby but having more then one baby is hard work!

Strawberry Days

Last week in Pleasant Grove was Strawberry Days. My sister Tiffany and I took the kids on Friday to Huck Finn Day where they enjoyed the games and then we went to our park to go ice blocking and down my neighbors huge slip and slide. They had a great time with their cousins and friends! Luke and Malissa also participated in the art contest. The theme was" A Bridge to the Past" so they both drew bridges. They did a great job!

A week of fun!

Claire learned how to climb onto Luke's desk. What a mess!
What a great day to go to the temple open house! No crowds and perfect weather! My kids loved going with their cousins!

I LOVE rainbows! With so much rain we were bound to have a beautiful rainbow!
I took the kids to the Pioneer Village in Salt Lake City. They loved the baby animals the best! We could have stayed there all day petting the lambs and goats. They especially liked the candy shop, the school house and the free icecream.

Malissa was the only one who would do the potato sack race! She had a great time!

Josh and Malissa hiked up to the Timpanogos Cave for Daddy's Night Out. Malissa liked the cave a lot but her favorite part was jogging in the rain on the way down.
