Malissa's service jar

Malissa created a service jar idea that I wanted to share. Malissa is a very thoughtful girl so I wasn't surprised that she came up with this idea on her own. She found a jar in our pantry, wrote down service ideas and decorated the jar using scrap paper, ribbon and double stick tape. Every day Malissa will pick a service that she wants to do. Yesterday she made lunch for her Dad because she picked out a slip of paper that said to make her Dad lunch. I'm always amazed at some of the ideas kids come up with. Great idea to use throughout the year.

Black and White Wednesday

Josh and I went to San Diego last weekend. We ended up going to Sea World while we were there. I don't think I've been there since middle school so a lot had changed. I especially loved seeing the Shamu, dolphins and seals. We had a great time!

Advancement

Emma found out today that she made it to advanced orchestra for next year. Last Thursday Emma  and her intermediate orchestra group had to perform in front of a judge to see if they qualified for advancement. Emma also went on stage with her friend and performed a song together in front of a judge. I was so nervous for them! I was able to be in the audience to watch her perform and I thought they did great! Emma is very lucky to be in such a great orchestra group!We are very proud of her hard work.

  Today Claire was introduced to the violin by her sister, Emma. She is very excited to play someday!

Snowman Party

 We had our second snowman party with cousins last Friday. January was a pretty busy month for all of us so we didn't have the chance to have our party until the beginning of February. The kids had a great time making cards, decorating snowmen cookies and just getting together with their cousins. Fun Day!
